    Shotblasting

Shotblasting is a one step system that strips, cleans, and properly etches concrete floors. The cleaning head has a completely enclosed centrifugal blast wheel. As the wheel spins metallic abrasive ( shot ) is fed into its centre and thrown from its blades to blast the floor surface. Media and contaminants rebound into a separation system which removes the contaminants to an attached dust collector and automatically recycles the shot for re- use.

Shotblasting is the most cost effective and environmentally safe way to remove dirt, adhesives, paint, coatings and other contaminants from floor surfaces

    Why Shotblast?

This allows the new coating or overlay to bond correctly to a surface, by creating a clean, dry and profiled surface to provide a bond or "teeth" for the coating to adhere to. The texture can be varied by changing the speed of the blast head and the size, of the shot used.
  • Shotblasting is a dust free operation, using self-contained dust collectors- ideal for sensitive environments.
  • Shotblasting does not use chemicals, therefore there is no post-cleanup and no hazardous materials in use.
  • Shotblasting does not impregnate particulate into surfaces, providing an ideal surface profile.
  • Blast pattern accuracy and wide abrasive selection allows for any desired surface profile.
  • Excellent bonding characteristics are produced, reducing coating failure.
  • Disposal of dust and contaminants is easily achieved.
  • Shotblasting will not "bruise" (micro crack) concrete.
  • Recommended method of surface preparation by coating manufacturers and engineers.
